Other reasons why you may want a CR100: Some people prefer the button user interface over a touch screen. The tactile feel means you can perform many operations without looking at the screen. For example, skipping tracks, pausing and resuming music. You may also prefer the scrollwheel interface for browsing music or want a more rugged device for use in, maybe, more hostile environments where a touch screen may be prone to damage.
The CR100 performs and will continue to perform all the Sonos functions through software updates.
